Under the patronage of the director general of antiquities Mr. Sarkis El Khoury, the Fine Arts and Design department at the International University in Beirut organized a 3 days seminar “Interiors” integration of time, space and humans. The seminar served as an introduction to different various types of integration in design.

Time: Ancient structures and decorum as a result of rescue archaeology into modern life, while facing the idea of the mortality of objects.

Humans: To integrate humans into the materialistic society where we tend to focus nowadays on individualism and individuals as generators of production separately from their social environment, restricted to living under the illusion of a cell.

Space: Furniture Design as an expression of space, to integrate furniture and textile into the markets place pending on the designer vision

The three main topics were presented in roundtables on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of May 2017. Each topic was moderated by a FAD faculty member and 2 or 3 specialized guests.
